Drums and Keyboards. Rick Davies (born Richard Davies, 22/7/1944) was a member of the following Bands: - Vince And The Vigilantes, (Drums, 1959)
- Rick’s Blues, (Organ, 1962 - August 1965)
- The Lonely Ones, (Keyboards & Vocals, from September 1966)
- The Joint, (evolved from 'The Lonely Ones' in July 1967)
- Daddy, (Keyboards, formed in August 1969 with Roger Hodgson)
- Supertramp, (evolved from 'Daddy' in January 1970)
According to Keith Panting, Rick Davies was also a member of The Senators for a short time?? The drummer in Rick's Blues was Raymond (Gilbert) O'Sullivan, who from 1970 went on to have his own successfull solo career, including one USA No. 1 and two UK No.1 singles. Rick Davies lived at 43 Eastcott Hill, Swindon. At the age of 12 he joined the British Railways Staff Association Brass and Silver Jubilee Band as a drummer. Rick went to Sanford Street school and then on to Swindon College, where in 1962, he formed Rick's Blues. Rick's wife Sue, whom he married in 1976 (Gilbert O'Sullivan was his Best Man at wedding), has been Supertramp's manager since 1984. After living in the USA for more than thirty years, Rick has now become a US citizen.
