Note: the musician's initials are on their muisc stands. The Embassy Dance Band had the following band members: - Alan Matthews, (Trumpet)
- David Mostyn, (Drums)
- Dennis Shakespeare, (Sax)
- Don Doughty, (Sax)
- Eric Rowlands, (Piano)
- Francis Cowley, (Trumpet)
- Frank Jeffcutt, (Sax)
Francis Cowley would go on to be one of the founders of the Swindon Big Band in the 1970s. The Recreation Centre was close to The Majestic and was popular for newer/younger bands to perform preparatory gigs before going on to perform at The Majestic. As the Rec. Centre was not licensed the audiences were mainly under 18s, although many would take a pass-out and pop over to The Glue Pot, infamous for its very cheap, very alcoholic, rough cider!
